During his visit to Wellington lust week, Cr. H. H. DeCosta interviewed the Rt. Hon, J. G. Coates aM Mr. W, Bromley, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, respecting the Gisborne aerpdpome proposal. “Mr. Bromley will visit Gisborne in January next, wlien he will renew the offer,” states Cr. DeCosta.
Motor-cyclists were present in failnumbers at the Park Domain yesterday, When a number of riders Were training for the Foxton motor-cycle sports and face meeting, to be held on Monday next. A party of at least five riders and 15 supporters will make the trip from Gisborne to Foxton for this meeting, the jonrpey being hi the nature of a holiday excursion, since the prizemoney to be won at the gathering would hui’ciiy pay bare expenses for the Gisborne party if district riders scooped the popf. There were no imiowuyd incidents during yesterday’s training operations, though one rider lmd a narrow escape from a high-speed fall at a bend. The nokn of tlie engine exhausts was somewhat distracting to* officers in charge of the territorial camp, which was in progress during tho week-end, and some of the finer points of lectures must have missed their marks owing to the nearby operations of th# motor-cycle enthusiftsts,
