TENNIS
MANUTUKE CLUE SEASON OPENS (Hfiralil Correspondent.) Period, weather prevailed on Saturday afternoon for the opening of the tennis season at Manutuke. The good attendance of members and their friends augurs well for the forthcoming year. Representatives were present from the Muriwai, Gisborne, Te liapara, and Basketball clubs. The courts, which were laid down on the. Te Aral Domain in 1932, are in excellent order. Both courts were fully occupied with doubles play. A dainty afternoon tea was dispensed in a shady spot by the lady members of the dub. The following'were amongst- the players: Mesdatnes A. McWhirter, A. Nicol, T. Gibson, G. Edwards, J. Pilgrim, J. Brown. Thompson, Kemp, and .Tones; .Misses Richardson, Jones (2), Grey, Atkins, Rickard. Dalton, Brown, Nepe, Smith, Calcott, White. Russell, Lark. Campbell, Taylor, Hill, King, Kemp. Martin, and Turoa; Messrs. Pilgrim, Graham, Preston, Atkins (2), Gibson, Barber (2), Ratcliffe, Moeau, Edwards, Muir f2), Martin, Swan, Julies, Brown, Hale, Tomoana, Turoa, White, Thompson, Clayton, Parkinson, Lange and Smith.
