The police inquiries made to-day resulted in the identification of the girl rescued this morning from the Waimata River as a domestic servant whose family is resident, in this district. It; appears that the girl had worked ns usual at her place of employment, in Childers road, until between 0 and 10 a.m., and had left the house suddenly without announcing anything Of her intentions to her employer. Iler absence was not noted, in fact, until some time later, and no jmiiortunec was attached to it. The girl is described fts of ft bright disposition, and enjoying good health. Her condition this afternoon was reported to be satisfactory.
