MATAWHERO STOCK SALE SMALL ENTRY OF SHEER Following so closely on the Cattle hair, the. weekly stock sale held by the Poverty bay Stockbrokers' Association at the Matav/hero salevards to-day brought very small entries, which were soon disposed of. Values generally for the different classes were maintained. In the beef section there was a small yarding o,f dairy sorts. A good Jersey heifer made £3 17s 6d and a good cow £3 ss. A few inferior condition made £1 to £2 ss.
In the fat'slmep pens ewes realised from 17s 4d to 20s, with Southdown 2-ths at 21s- 3cl and second-grade cwCs at 14s. A few pens of store sheep met with a goou market, late rates being maintained. Ewes with lambs sold from 25s to 295; good class wether hoggets, 21s 6d: empty ewes, with first class mouths, 17s Bd.

MEAT IN LONDON The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board bus been advised by its Loudon manager that the following retail prices were being quoted for Ntnv Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London during September, 1934, these prices representing a fair average of the, prices quoted by the better class shops in London for the best quality of New Zealand lamb and mutton:—
