PRINCE GEORGE ABROAD LATE KING AS HOST The late King Alexander of Jugoslavia was a. relative by marriage of Princess Marina of Greece, .who is about to marry Prince George of England. Princess -Marina’s younger sister, Princess Olga of Greece, was married in 1923 to Prince Paul of Jugo-Slavia. Tho latter is the only son of Prince Arsenc, a younger brother of the late King Peter of Serbia, father of the murdered King Alexander.
Prince George left London in August for Jugo-Slavia to spend a holiday with Prince and Princess Paul at their summer residence on Lake Bohinjska, in the Slovenian Alps, and to enjoy some chamois-hunting and shooting. Princess Marina was of the party. The engagement was announced a fortnight later, on August 29. The same day the King and Queen of Jugo-Slavia were present at a luncheon party given by Prince Paul to celebrate the event, and t lie King gave a dinner party at his palace on Lake Plod in honor of the young couple.
