£159,799 LOAN
WELLINGTON SUGGESTION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A recommendation that the council raise a loan of £159,799 for necessary works was submitted to the Wellington City Council last night by the works committee. The projects contemplated included £81.299 for street work, and £71,000 for stormwater drainage and sewerage. It was decided to forward the proposals to the Government Loans Board to ascertain on what terms the board would sanction the raising of a loan. The matter will then be placed before the rate-' payers.
