RETURNS FOR AUGUST INCREASES IN EXPORTS (Elec. Tel. Copyright— United Press Assn.) (Received Sept. 15, noon.) LONDON, Sept. 14. Board of Trade returns for August show that imports totalled £60,027,000; exports, £32,090.000; and re-exports £3,301.000. , The principal increases, compared witn August last year, were: In imports, meat, £627,0J0; beverages, cocoa, and ineparafions, £519,000; tobacco, £438,000; wood and timber, £505,000; rubber, £864,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £594,000; oils and tats and manufactures, £541,000. In exports, iron and steel and manufactures thereof, £461,000; machineiy, £443,000; cotton yams and manufactures, £427,000. The principal decreases were: In imports, dairy produce, £441,000; other foods, £674,000; wool, £814,000. In exports, non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £611,000.
