Aii unusual method of lessening the noise of explosives used to blow opeu a safe was adopted by burglars who entered the branch butchery of R. and W. Hellaby, Limited, Auckland. They moved the safe from its position and carried it into the refrigerator room, where a charge of gelignite was fired. Alhough there are - residences near, the thieves’ uncommon effort succeeded, for evidently no suspicious sounds were heard. The door of the safe was opened and the intruders stole between £3 and £4.
