CAMPS
(To the Editor of tlu> Herald.) Sir,—Will the authorities responsible tell the public, if it is true that the men being sent to the camp at Ilangaroa have to find their own way out- from 'osborne and if they have also to pay ill per cord for firewood. If they refuse to make a public statement we can only conclude it is true, and then the public might midi rstand why the men don’t want to go to camp.—Yours, etc., INTERESTED. Interviewed on the subject to-day, the district engineer, Mr O. G. Thornton, stated that the men must make their own arrangements about getting to camp, which is passed Ivy a regular licensed service, three days a week. The department does not find free firewood, but is prepared to get it. if asked, and charge the men the eosl pribo.
