BURNED TO DEATH
POSTMISTRESS’ FATE (Received May 16, noon.). MELBOURNE. May 16. In her attempt to save the books of the Post Office at Yalloum, Mrs. Hutchinson, the postmistress, was burned to death. Her husband tried to rescue her, but was driven back by the flames and smoke. A weatherboard dwelling, store, and post office were destroyed.
