There were a number of individual centuries in county cricket matches this week, including several outstanding performances. Notts took a risk and secured a welldeserved win over Warwick. With a deficiency of 132 on the first innings, Notts declared in the second after running up 261 for seven wickets, leaving Warwick requiring only 129 to win. The latter, however, were dismissed for 105, Notts winning by 24 runs. Santall’s 120 for Warwick was the best effort in this match. Surrey showed a reversal of form to defeat Gloucester by an innings, Gregory making 141 and Darling 104 not out for the winners. Glamorgan ran up the good total ol 411, Duckfield making 155 not out, but this aggregate was passed by Kent, who compiled 490, Ashdown making 119. Ames also batted well for Kent, making 94 and 69 not out. In the second they lost eight for 97. Sussex won by two wickets. Glamorgan in the first compiled 411, Smart making 95. In the second they pub on 254, Duckfield making 155 not out. Freeman took seven for 115. Kent in the first made 490, Ashdown scoring 119 and Arnes 9'4. In the second they lost two for 176, Ames making 09 not out. Kent won by eight -wickets. Hampshire’s first produced 483, Lowndes making 102 and Kennedy 99. In the second they put on 230 for two and declared, Arnold making 135 not out. Essex in the first made 469, Smith scoring 111 and O’Connor 191. Kennedy took six for 86. In the second they lost one for 75. Hampshire won on the first innings. North ants in the first made 139, Brook taking five for 55. In the second they lost two for 42. Worcester in the first scored 114, Partridge taking five for 26. In the second they lost one for 269, Gibbons making 88 and Walters 159 not out. Worcester won by nine wickets. Notts in the first scored 163, Hollies taking five for 63. In the second they made 261 for seven and declared. Warwick’s first yielded 295, Santall making 120. Voce took five for 79. In the second they made 105, Butler taking six for 39. Notts won by 24 runs. Leicester in the first made 244, Geary scoring 66. In the second they lost, six for 156.
