ENGLISH TEAM’S TOUR NO IMMEDIATE PROSPECT (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A letter from Mr. Druery, secretary of tile Australian Football Association, read at a meeting of the New Zealand council last night, said there was no immediate prospect of a tour of Australia and Now Zealand by an English aiid Scottish association side. This was in dicated by Mr. S. Stack, of New South Wales, who has just returned from a visit to England. Mr. Druery says efforts are being made to induce the Football Association to send a schoolboy team to Australia If such a tour eventuated, the Australian association would endeavor to get New Zealand included in the itinerary. It was reported to the meeting that 18 entries had been received for the Chat hum Cup, against 36 last year. The eu tries are: Northern and Maori Hill, of Otago; Glen Afton, Hamilton; Wan derers, and Huntly United, of South Auckland; Rangers and AH Blacks, of Buller; Hospital, Petone, Marist, and Waterside, of Wellington; Abels, Pon sonby, Thistle, and Y.M.C.A., of Auck land; Western, Thistle and Technical Old Boys, of Canterbury. POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION MEETING OP EXECUTIVE The weekly meeting of the executive of the Poverty Bay Football Association was held last evening, there being present Messrs. J. J. Macdonald, E. Powell, P. Quinn, J. Easton, W. Simmonds, J. Miller, J'. McLean, and J. Watt. Mr. Macdonald was elected chairman. Anderscon, Moflit, J. Mackie, A. Baker, and A. Bignall. The following games were drawn for Saturday:—Unemployed v. Te Hapara, No. 1 ground; City v. Mangapapa, No. 2 ground; referees, Messrs J. Mohan and W. Bury. Play will commence at 2.45 p.m. Games for Thursday afternoon are to be arranged on the ground, and will commence at 2.30 o’clock. All desirous of playing should be on the ground promptly. Further practice games for schoolboys will be played at the Childers road reserve on Saturday at 1.30 p.m. It was decided to appoint coaches to the schools as under: —Te Hapara, Mr. J. McLean; Mangapapa, Mr. J. Easton; City, Mr. J. Mohan; Kaiti, Mr. J. Miller. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the Hawke’s Bay, Wellington and Wanganui associations with reference to representative games. Executive meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 o’clock throughout the season.
