LIGHTNING'S PRANKS
TREE LIFTED, BODILY TEMORA (Vic.), March BL| A remarkable phenomenon occurred at Navnoo Mia, near femora, duripg a recent storm when a dry tree 30ft. high was struck by lightning 3ft from the ground. Portion of the tree was lifted and deposited some yards away, while the butt was shifted 100yds from its original position. Mr. M. Byrne, the owner of the property, who witnessed the occurrence, and who has had considerable experience in the bush, states that lie never saw or heard the like before. Ten turkeys on Mr. H. Crisp’s property, at Conibaning, which were sheltering under'a tree, were killed by lightning during the same storm.
