Further sensations in the Stavisky affair were caused by the arrest of Gauffer, formerly his and at present Aline, Stavisky’s counsel, on charges of swindling, and also La Liberte’s assertion that. The. film of Stavisky’s death not only showed the body but the scenes outside, the villa before the detectives entered. La Liberte asks why the police informed three news film companies before effecting tlie arrest ?
