NAPIER CARNIVAL THREE RECORDS BROKEN GISBORNE JUNIORS’ SUCCESS (l’er Press Association.) NAPIER, last night. Three records were broken at the provincial Hawke’s 'Bay-Poverty Bay swimming championships to-night. In the 880yds. men’s event, R. Watkins, of Maliora Club, cut 20 1-oscc. from the rccoixl, whicli had stood for 23 years, his time being 11 min. 59 2-5 see. J. P. Farrell, Hcretauuga Club, broke the 50yds. men’s record, his time being 25 2-ssec., and the previous record 26 2-ssec. Mrs I). Scarfc, Tn Awa Club, in an unpaced swim, broke 'the 220yds. women’s breaststroke record, her time being 3min. 53 2-ssee.
