BANDITRY IN AMERICA
ROBBERS SECURE £35,000 SEVERAL PERSONS KILLED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received February 3, 3 p.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 2. Bandits staged four sensational daylight robberies in various parts of the nation to-day, stealing over £35,000 in cash. One -policeman was killed and several persons killed or kidnapped. At Penagrove, New Jersey, four gunmen escaped with the £26,000 pay-roll of the Dupont Do Nemours, explosive manufacturers. At Needham, Massachusetts, machinegun equipped bandits invaded a bank and started firing at random, killing a policeman and wounding three others. They escaped with £2OOO. A bank at Rochester, New York, was similarly invaded and £3OOO taken, but no one was injured. At Ooleman, Texas, bandits stole .£4600 from a bank, and covered their escape by kidnapping the entire staff of six clerks.
