FIRST VISITORS ARRIVE
WAITANGI CELEBRATIONS UNFAVORABLE WEATHER (Special to tho Horald.) WAITANGI, this day. For the past three days the weather conditions a't Ti Point, the site of the great Maori hui, have been of the worst, although the natives have accepted their lot cheerfully, hoping that there will be no rain left for Monday and Tuesday. Sir Apirana Ngata and his party arrived this afternoon, and the first of the southern tribes will arrive tomorrow morning. There will be more visitors on Saturday and Sunday, and if the weather clears there will be ceremonial welcomes to the Parliamentary and viceregal parties, which arrive on Monday. THE VICEREGAL PARTY DEPARTURE FOR NORTH (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Their Excellencies and party sailed this morning by the Government steamer Matai on route to the Waitangi celebrations. They will visit two lighthouses, 'put in at Kanvau to-morrow night, watch the Royal Yacht Squadron’s regatta on Saturday, and arrive at Russell on Saturday night. They arc due to return to Auckland on Februarv 16.
