THE HARBORS BILL
SEVERAL A I TERATIONS (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Several alterations to the Harbors Bill have been made by the Hinds Committee of the House. The lengthy provision restricting the deposit of ballast or rubbish on tidal lands and harbor approaches, or in harbors themselves, has been eliminated. The maximum rate of berthage dues now to he paid by vessels engaged exclusively in fishing, sealing or oysterdredging, and not carrying goods for hire, is not to exceed Id per ton per day. A new provision is that the Public Trustee cannot he removed or suspended as sinking fund commissioner in the case of departmental or State-guaranteed loans.
