Despite tlio Qillicult conditions of the market, tlie Australian Press Association understands that Mr. S. M. Bruce arranged for the immediate conversion of a substantial amount.
It i s expected that the terms will be available to-night. As an exceptional measure, the Chancellor of the Exchequer has agreed to an immediate 'Commonwealth issue for the purpose of refunding certain Australian loans bearing interest at the rates of 5f per cent and o per cent.
