A vast buildup programme, eoutemplating the expeiiditui'e of £2,£03.,000,000 in a two-year period, for stimulating reemployment, is understood to have been outlined in an exhaustive National Recovery Act survey. One section summarises possible outlets of construction under Government financing, and the other is an inventory of real property and a programme lor the maintenance of a balance between real property and construction. New construction contemplated includes the following: Housing, £506,400,CX)0; recreation facilities, £90.000,000; health and sanitation, £27.300,000; level crossing and highways, £480,000,000; express highways, £330,000,000; railway improvement, £300,000,000; industrial and commercial improvement, £360,000,000; education facilities, £60,000,Gu0; and the modernisation of existing structures, £130,000,000.
