OBITUARY

U.S. MULTI-MILLIONAIRE (Received Dec. 2, 3 p.m.) PITTSBURG, Dec. 1. The death lias occurred of Mr R. B. Million, multi-millionaire banker, and philanthropist, and a brother of the, ex-Secrctary of the Treasury. Miss Aroha Clifford (later Mrs. A. Brustad), whose death was recorded from Christchurch this week, was well known in New Zealand as an aeroplane pilot. She, flew around Christchurch a good deal, and towards the close of 1930 left for England. There she joined the London Aeroplane Club and spent some time at do Havilhind’s, taking a private owner’s course in mechanics in order, to get a good knowledge of running repairs. This was in preparation for a proposed flight from England to Australia. She bought a I’uss Moth and flew aibout England a good deal, also paying a visit to the Continent, flying round the Alps and on to Amsterdam. .She qualified iov all the tests for a B pilot’s license, stive in tho cross-country flight, but finfiJly gave up her intention of flying to Australia because of parental opposition. She married Mr. Brustad, a well-known guide at Mount Cook, two years ago.
