In one of the most sensational bouts for years, Tony Canzoneri, former title-holder, knocked out Kid Chocolate, the Cuban, after 2min.' SOsec. of the second round of a scheduled 10roum3 fight. It was Chocolate’s first knock-out in 211 bouts and resulted from a terrific right-handed blow to the chin by Canzoneri. Chocolate desperately attempted to rise on the counts of eight and nine, but his senses were numbed, and he fell back helplessly. Canzoneri weighed 9st 71bs, and Chocolate 9st. 41b.
