BRITISH WARSHIP’S SPEED 1100 MILES IN 39 HOURS (Received Nov. 27, II a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 26. H.ALS. Achilles established a world’s speed record for a warship of her class, covering 1100 nautical miles from Gibraltar \to Portland in 39 hours, equivalent to 29 knots an hour. The Achilles proved faster than the German liner Bremen, the holder of the Atlantic blue riband.
