IDOL STRIPPED OF JEWELS
CALCUTTA, Nov. 26. Burglars raided the famous temple of Bakshineswar at Hooghly, near Calcutta, and stripped from the idol Kali, the Hindu goddess of destruction, jewels worth nearly .£BOOO, including a diamond studded crown, a pearl necklace, and a number of gold ornaments.
