A motor-lorry owned by Wing On and Company, of Westport, went over a bln IT when returning from Karamea. It was completely destroyed, failing about 200 ft. The possibility of fruitgrowers being reluctant to send away the same quantity of fruit as was exported last season was mentioned to a Hawke's Bay Herald reporter by a grower. The informant based bis assumption on the fact that prices for fruit on the local markets at the present, time were move remunerative than those obtained overseas.
