FOOD REQUIREMENTS
ENGLISH INVESTIGATION MINIMUM FOR FAMILY LONDON, Nov. 24. A committee of nine doctors appointed by the British Medical Association reports, after research, that the minimum cost of food per week for a man, liis wjl'e and three children is 22s ti-Jd, and for an adult alone 5s lO'.d. The figures are based on the mean prices in the working-class markets in representative parts of England in June hist. The Daily Herald says that, the unemployment allowance for a family of tho size mentioned is at present 29s Id. Tho. Daily Express announces that, it is putting a member of its staff for a week on the British Medical Association diet. He will be weighed and examined by a doctor.
