HUGE PLANE CRASHES

CHINA’S WORST MISHAP NINE OCCUPANTS ESCAPE (Received November 25, 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Nov. 24.

The worst disaster m civil aviation in China, though not attended, by any fatalities, occurred when a huge Sikorsky amphibian, carrying two pilots and seven passengers, crashed on the heights of Chusau Island, in Hangchow Bay, in a dense fog. Tho machine was on its inaugural passenger flight. After striking tho rockhound coast, tho plane somersaulted thrice, ending in a mass of twisted wreckage, from which tho occupants, badly injured, were extricated. The Countess of Carlisle, a niece of the British Minister, Sir Miles Lampson, had both ankles broken, and Mr. Kevnalds, American Consul at Foochow, was badly injured.
