CAR FALLS 60FT.
PLUNGE DOWN RIVER BANK A fortunate escape from serious injury was experienced by Mr. Andrew Anderson, 67, a retired farmer, Claudelands, when a motor-car which he was driving fell 60ft. down the bank of the Waikato River Mr. Anderson was driving a light sedan car from his home. When lie had turned into River road he put one hand behind him to steady a can of milk in t lie back of the car. The vehicle left the road and fell down the bank. it tured over several times and came to nt-t upside down against a tree on a footpath within a few feet of tile river. Mr. Anderson, who was the sole occupant, scrambled out when the car stopped. lie received only a few minor scratches and slight shock.
