At the wool sales, 10,560 bales were offered, including 4035 from NV.v Zealand, and about 8593 bales were sold. With active and well-distributed coinpetition, the bulk of Hie offerings were sold at full opening rates. New Zealand prices included: Haltbred lamb, slipe, Kaiapoi, top 18-J.d, average 17-^d.

The Bradford market is very lymi. Some topmakers have withdrawn quotations, or are asking for protective prices. Quotations are: Seventies, 38^d; sixtyfours, 371,(1; sixties, 35d; fifty-sixes, 25i,d; fifties, 181,d; forty-sixes, 13d; forties, lljd. THE AUCKLAND SALE 215,782 BALES AVAILABLE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The catalogue for the first Auckland wool sale of the season, which opens on Monday, closed with an offering ol 23,782 hales. This is slightly less than the limit, which was fixed at 25,000 bales,'and compares with an offering ol 28,687 hales al the opening sale last year. The quality of the clip is the best for some years. RECORD PRICES THE MELBOURNE SALES (Received Nov. 24, 11 a.in.) MELBOURNE, Nov.. 24. At the wool sales, the market was very firm at a figure equal to the best rates of the week. Merino wool sold to 29W, a record for the Melbourne market this season. Lambs made to 251,d, also a record. Comeback sold up to 28d. THE SYDNEY SALES MARKET CLOSES FIRM SYDNEY, Nov. 23. At the wool sales, 12,693 bales were offered, of which 11,575 were sold, and 873 bales were disposed of privately. The market closed very firm for all descriptions. Competition was general and well sustained. Greasy merino made 27L1 for five bales from Rye Park. The average price of greasy wool at this week’s auctions was £2O 3s 5d a bale, or 15.9*1 per lb.
