conference: proposed (Herald Correspondent.) . A conference of eourtty Aonnails regarding the native fitting problem was suggested at the Waiapn, County Coun- , cil meeting. The chairman, Cr. D. W. W. Williams, said that lie luid written to the Minister of Internal Affairs urging the . immediate publication of the Native ; Rating Commission’s findings, but he had received no reply. It was agreed that tho council write to the Minister urging that the contents of the report should T>o made public, and if a reply is not received within a short time the council should write to Mr K. 8. Williams, M.P., and to the Counties’ Association. i It was suggested that if the reply to the request proved unfavorable, tbe ! , council should call a conference of county council? with interests much : the same as Waiapu’s in the native rating problem.
