AMENITIES AT RESERVE EXTEA FLOOD-LIGHTING A further improvement to the Childers road reserve was decided upon at the weekly meeting of the committee of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Haniei Club, held last evening. The meeting was attended by a large number of members, and was presided over by Mr. L. McCoy. , , ~ It was reported that arrangements bail been made with the Poverty Bay Power Board for the purchase of two further flood-lights for tlie reserve, and that these would be installed in time for tire next electric light sports meeting, on November 29 , It was resolved that cyclists should be recommended to paint the wheels ami tyres of their machines white, so that they'would show up better at nighty The matte! of holding a meeting on New Year’s Day was held over for discussion at a later meeting. It was was decided to hold committee meetings on Monday evenings in future, in lieu of Thursday, the next meeting, to be held next Monday evening. A supply of registration numbers was received from the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay sub-centre, and it was announced that these were obtainable from Mr. W. M. Wildish.

It was decided that entries for the next meeting should close to-morrow evening. The following were elected members of the club Misses L. Chitty and A. Race, and Messrs. J. Kyaii, 1?. W Millier, W. Sennnous, J. Ward, and F. E.Quayle. ...... .
