Claims for'interest on the amount overpaid and the cost of re- . calibrating the .measuring rods were • disallowed. “There‘can be no doubt upon a comparison with the recalibrated rods that the original rods were defective,” said Mr Stout. “I think that the method of measuring benzine iby means of calibrated'rods and the calibration of rods are ■ rough and ready methods acquiesced in by the retailers and the oil companies. In my opinion there is no ; doubt that the method of measuring favors'the oil companies.”
