A Maori girl, Dudi Tui, 7, was drowned in the Waiw&kaiho River, near New Plymouth, last week. No one was near the' mouth of the river during the afternoon and no definite information regarding the fatality is available. The girl lived with her parents in a lint near the month of the river, where- the parents engage in whjtebaiting.
