Schramm (Labor, Auckland E.) asked if the Government intended to fi11,,. the vacancy on the Supreme Court bench. He said surely the Cabinet was able to come to some decision on Ibis subject. Its delay had given rise to u suggestion that there was something behind the whole matter. There must he some reason, and the House should know it. It was imperative that the vacancy should be filled at the first, opportunity There were good men offering, and there was no reason why the appointment of a new judge should not he announced light away.
