PROVISION FOR EXTENSION j The Government does not propose to proceed this session with the Electoral Amendment Bill, which extends the life of Parliament from three to four years, buf, that is not to be taken as indicating any change in the Government’s attitude toward the bill. It was one of the measures held over from the last session of Parliament. It was expected to be re-introduced as part of the Government’s legislative programme for 1 lie present session. l In answer to questions, the Prime Mipistcr, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, said definitely tljat the Government did not intend to deal with the bill this session. Asked whether this delay indicated any change of attitude on the part of tlie Government, Sir. Forbes said: “No. We are simply holding it over in the meantime.”
