NEW ZEALAND WOOL SALES JAPANESE COMPETITION From present indications, Japan will be an active competitor with Bradford and the Continent at the New Zealand wool sales, which will open at Auckland on Monday. This opinion was expressed by Mr. YY. ,T. Coss, a representative of a Japanese firm of wool buyers who has just ar rived at Auckland. He expected a rise in values, in sympathy with those in Australia, where' Japan was a consistent buyer. The Auckland catalogue has closed at about 23,000 bales. The limit imposed was 25,000 bales. Wool sold in Australia during the period from July 1 to October 31 total-, led 814,673 bales, which realised

£14,568,531, the turnover showing an increase of 50,952 bales, and the amount realised an increase of £5,641,989, compared with the similar period of 1932.
