Radio Typewriter
INTERNATIONAL Business Machines Corporation of Montreal, lias perfected.an electric typewriter that can transmit at the rate of 100 words a minute over a short wave radia system. It plans to lease the machines to police departments to replace wired teletype sets; to businesses for communication between branches, and probably for distribution of news. The machines thus far have been tested out for transmission up to 200 miles. Their frirngc is : considerably farther than that, according to engineers.
