It. was stated to-day that the,, use of very high voltages in the treatment of cancer had been made possible bjr improvements to X-ray tubes, which now had a useful life of hundreds and even thousands of hours. Tho manufacture of high voltage transformer equipment for medical and commercial purposes with the .same, plant and research facilities had enabled the cost of production to be reduced to a stage at which the Australian industry could compete With the .world’a finest
