GREATLY MODIFIED
THE POULTRY BILL MEASURE REINTRODUCED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Poultry Industry Bill, which caused groat controversy last session, was introduced by the Government in the House to-day greatly modified. It will, provide facilities for tho organisation of the industry with tho registration of owners of 25 birds and over, a sliding scale of fees ranging from 2s Cd. There, is no proposal for market control. The Minister of Agriculture is also responsible for a measure enabling commercial tomato gardens to be registered and the payment of fees to ba utilised for furthering the interests of tomato growers.
