NEW YORK ELECTIONS KEEN MAYORAL CONTEST (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Nov. 3, 3 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 2. “Wnteh out. for tombstone votes” is becoming a Mayoralty slogan as election day draws near. It is revealed that the names of at least five men who have been dead for from six months to 50 years are appearing among the lists of sponsors of various candidates. The race is so keen now that efforts are maejy to utilise every'political stratagem. There is a concerted move 'to bring “floaters” into the city for the purposes of voting. The prosecuting agencies are overtaxed investigating alleged frauds, the police reporting thousands of suspected cases. Many arrests already have been made.
