ATTEMPTED FRAUD
DESTRUCTION OF CAR (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this dsiv. Found guilty recently of attempting to obtain .£IOO by false pretences from mi insurance company in connection with the burning of his motor car, John Phillips cttirio before His Honor Sir Michael Myers, and was ordered to come up for sentence within 18 months if called upon. His Honor said that if it had appeared that the prisoner was responsible for the firing of the car and the removal of parts, lie would not have hesitated to pass sontence of imprisonment. Tho costs of the case amounted to £35, and he ordered the prisoner to pay them in 12 monthly instalments.
