“I consider that the road between Napier and Hustings is a disgrace. Despite assurances which we have received in the past the matter has been getting worse and worse,” remarked Dr. W. I). Fitzgerald at tho annual meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Automobile Association when referring to the number of signhoards which have been erected to advertise various kinds of goods to the passing motorist. It was decided to write to the Motor Traders’ Association in regard, to the matter. To inspect the aerodromes at New Plymouth, Hawera, and Napier, to which improvements are contemplated, FlightLieutenant V. J. Soinerset-Tlionias, N.Z.P.A.F., and Mr. E. A. Gibson, of tho Public Works Department, will fly to the North Island this week. Their tour is not connected with tho scheme just approved by the Government for the selection and preparation of emergency landing grounds, on which officers of the Air Force and a Public Works Department engineer will probably cooperate as soon as the flying courses at YVigram aerodrome in November are over.
