£300.000 CONTRACT
WELLINGTON STATION DETAILS NOT SETTLED (IVr Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Cabinet met specially last evening to consider tenders for the construction of the new Wellington railway station, and it was decided to accept the tender of the, Fletcher Construction Company, who wore the lowest tenderers. The price is stated to be in the vicinity of £300,000, but it is not possible to nscortain the amount officially. The Prime Minister, the Kt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, said that any statement would have to come from Air. Sterling. The chairman of tin; Government Railways Hoard, Mr. 11. 11. Sterling, said that, up to the present, no tender had been accepted. Certain details had vet to be brought to duality. These matters were in hand, and would be completed as soon as possible, and an announcement would 1m mu do immediately that was done.
