PATUTAHI NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Patutahi School Committee was held last evening. Present:—Mr. J. Atkins, chairman, Mcsdames L. Baty and Worsnop, Messrs. 11. Bull, and J. McF. dacher. The headmaster’s report showed that the school roll stood at 158, the average attendance for October being 142.7. A letter was received from the Education Board’s agricultural instructor outlining the pirns of calf clubs and asking for the committee’s co-operation in connection with the forthcoming exhibition of calves. It was resolved to give the movement every possible support. Accounts amounting to £2 4s lid were passed for payment. The net proceeds from the recent euchre tournament, including donations, was £7 14s lid. A vote of thanks was accorded the proprietors of ; the Patutahi lime works for a donation of lime, which it was decided to apply to the school gardens. It was resolved to plant a small portion of the grounds in kumaras and to solicit donations of plants.
