GANGSTER OUTRAGE
BOOKMAKER MURDERED “TAKEN FOR A RIDE” (Elec. Tel. Copyrifht—United Press Assn.) SYDNEY, Sept, 29. A mysterious crime was committed early this morning. The body of John Stanislaus Keane, 37, a bookmaker, with three bullet wounds in the head and neck, was found near the pavement at Mascot. The police are of opinion that Keane was the victim of a gangster outrage. They believe gangsters, took him in a car “for a ride” and shot him at close range,; as then, were powder marks on the face, and damped the body where it was-found.
