STEEL FURNACES RESTARTED
LONDON, Aug. 14. The fact that additional steel furnaces are to be started at Con.sett, is regarded as a sign of improving trade conditions in Durham. To-day six furnaces will be in operation for the first time for three years. An official said; “This is a definitely better prospect, The change will mean more work in plate and angle mills, for a greater tonnage will have to bo rolled,"
