FIRST-CLASS ORDER
TE HAPARA TENNIS COURTS OPENING IN SHOW WEEK In view of tlio fact that the Tc Hapara Tennis Club's courts are in first-class order this season, it "’as decided at the annual meeting of the club last evening that the courts should be opened in Show week, the official opening to be performed by the Mayor, Mr. John Jackson, on the Saturday. There was a small but enthusiastic attendance ah the meeting, which was presided over by Mr. W. M. Jenkins. The annual report, which was recently published in the Herald, was adopted. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. K. C. Fisken; president, the Mayor, Mr. John Jackson; vicepresidents, Messrs. W. Norman, A. Wilson, J. B. Woods, and J. E. Benson ; secrotary and treasurer, Mr. W. S. McKee; hpn. auditor, Mr. (t. K. Pasley; club captain, Mr. E. Woodrow; deputy club captain, Mr. E. .Rickard; committee, Messrs. E. Woodrow, W. M. Jenkins, P. Rickard, J. Mowat, P. N. Holder, E. Rosie, C. Mack ley, W. Piesse, and IC. Everett; ladies’ committee, Mesdames McLauchlan, Weston, and Swainson, and Misses Gordon, Maxwell, and Norman. As an indication of the popularity of the club, it was mentioned that already 14 new members had been accepted.
