INTREPID VOYAGER
MR. ERLTNC! tames; LONDON, Aug. IS. That, stout-hearted rover of the seven seas, Mr. 'Filing Tambs, is about, to set out. on another voyage of indefinite destination and uncertain duration. In “The Cruise of the Teddy” he described his astonishing honeymoon —four years in a 13-ton pilot cutter — which found him in the end shipwrecked, but with a crew augmented by a small son and daughter. He is in London at the momenf, and said that lie leaves on Saturday for his unlive land, Norway. At .Sandefjord lie hopes to pick up a second-hand cutter of about eight tons, and to take it and his other possessions aboard a whaler.
Then he will be dropped somewhere in the ocean to tempt Providence a second time.
Tlio Norwegian boats—skjoitcs, they arc called —arc the best for his purpose. They are the fruits of a Scotsman's labor, Colin Archer, who built Nansen’s From, and are mavvellouslv seaworthy.
This time Mr. Tamils will be able to afford a proper spirit compass and such necessaries as a list of lights and reasonable charts. But ho will leave his wife and family behind. Unless by chance he falls in with a like-minded adventurer he will set sail alone.
