DISTILLERIES TO OPEN
LONDON. Aug. 14. The prospect of the repeal of prohibition in the United States lias aroused hopes of improved trade in the Scottish distilling industry. The Distillers Company, which ' holds' a controlling interest in thy industry, has decided to reopen this season 1-i of the silent stills. Km ploy merit will be found for some five hundred men, A number of the privately owned distilleries are also to work after a closure of several yours. ,An American syndicate is at. present negotiating for the pui.ohn.sit (if.n BanfisnifO distillery which has a stock of 123,000 gallons of whisky in bond.
