WOMEN’S INSTITUTE CONCERT (lloiiilll Correspondent.) That the dramatic circle oi the I’atutahi Women’s Institute is instrumental in developing tlie latent talent ot its members was fully demonstrated last evening, when a. most successful entertainment was staged in the hall, which was well filled with an interested audience. The local ladies. were ably assisted by popular artists from Gisborne, all numbers being heartily applauded. In between tile stage items duiiciim- was indulged in, music being supplied by Mrs. Menzies orchestra. Extras were contributed by Miss A. Ritchie, and Mr. €. Cusack capably controlled the floor. The dainty supper served on tables adorned with calendulas and anemones reflected credit on the convener, Mrs. W. N. Walker and her willing band of assistants. The following was the programme:— Story without words, “The philanderer,” Misses Elsie Turnbull, Rita Atkins, Amy Ritchie and C. Lyons; minuet, Misses 1?. Sharpies and 1L Skect; a one-act play, “The Cure,” Misses E. Turnbull (Mary), A. Ritchie (John). C. Lyons (Mrs. Parrot), and G. Eade (Mr. Parroa). Mrs. I, Morrow', who possesses a pleasing voice, was heard to advantage in a bracketed number “Only a Flower.” amt “Love's a Merchant.”
